Computing
The Intent of our Computing Curriculum
At Alderbrook we aspire for our pupils to be confident and safe users of technology. Technology will play a pivotal part in our children’s educational and personal lives. Therefore, we want to model and educate our pupils on how to use technology positively, responsibly and safely. We want our pupils to be creators; they will have the opportunity to combine our school values and broad curriculum by encompassing computer science, information technology and digital literacy to reflect this. We want our pupils to understand that there is always a choice with using technology and as a school we utilise technology to model positive use.

On top of this, we are fortunate to have the support and expertise of the City Learning Centre (CLC) who are based on site and are available to support our staff or take lessons for our pupils to ensure they have the very best computing curriculum available to them. The CLC provide coding lessons for all key stage 1 and key stage 2 pupils across the school year. The CLC also offer an after school club provision for those wanting to learn more about coding.
All children are provided with Google Education Suite accounts, home learning is set via Google classroom which can be accessed both in school and remotely.
